New Beginnings
The promised bit of metaphysics
First of all, welcome to all new subscribers. I hope you enjoy this sunny, magical space I’ve been building over the past year. Since my One Year to Havana post, my subscriber list has grown by 10% — in just one week! I’m still below forty people, but for the blog’s statistics, it’s groundbreaking.
Recently, I reread my welcome letter (or at least what I think I’m sending to all new subscribers — need to double-check!), and realised I’d been promising a bit of metaphysics here. Something I’ve completely skipped over these past few months, for reasons unknown to me. (Not that my subscriber count suddenly grew extremely high and I became shy about sharing the more vulnerable parts of myself… of course not.)
This week feels like the perfect moment to return to a bit of witchcraft — not only because Paris is giving us a preview of summer again, but also because the number of celestial events is immense. Starting Thursday, we have a few days in a row that are perfect for new beginnings (in case you were wondering when the best time to start is).
Yesterday’s New Moon was already a powerful push toward a fresh start. It wrapped up the corridor of eclipses (have you been feeling them as strongly as I have? Gosh, I feel like I’ve been wrecked by that train — but I’m planning to be reborn with this New Moon). It’s also the last New Moon of the astrological year, and it’s in Pisces — the most dreamy, subconscious sign. A powerful catapult into a life you might have only dared to imagine. So dare to see yourself there — and make a wish.
Today is even better. The new astrological year begins on March 20th (welcome, fierce Aries!). It’s also the day of the Equinox, when light begins to gain power and returns more fully into our lives. I wish you all of that light.
And — my favourite — Nowruz, the Persian New Year, also arrives today (in less than an hour, in fact). Sal-e No Mobarak to all Persian people across the world. May this celebration be a proclamation of a new era — one filled with more light, compassion, and resilience.
It’s the first year I’m welcoming all these new beginnings on my own — my spiritual buddies are back in Prague — but I’m working on creating new traditions (old-new ones, of course). So I’ve cleaned the house and our magical terrace from dry leaves and cat mischief, cooked some spring dishes, and — like a true Pragoise — went to the Castle last night. Our château d’à côté isn’t too fancy, so it’s not lit at night. Which makes it the perfect place for stargazing.
Jupiter in Gemini hangs right above us after sunset, our Giver of Gifts since it went direct on March 11th. Jupiter symbolises growth, expansion, law, faith, and the ethics that guide it. It carries a sense of development and support — one that can lead to opportunities, abundance, and belief. I wish you, my most devoted readers, all of that.
On a personal level, in this new chapter I want to invite more human contact into my life. In the era of artificial intelligence, I feel we’ve been neglecting the power of human intelligence — and this year, I want to make space for it. More connection to nature, more embodied practice, more collaborative projects, new partnerships — with humans, not machines. I want to connect to the wisdom of our ancestors, to those who search for meaning across time. I want intuition to guide me through the chaos. I want people to care for our planet (because, as we know, there is no Planet B). And I want to be joined by many on this path.
This is a powerful time of year for manifestation. I invite you to join me in it — even silently. If we all wish for more love and compassion in this world, more care and responsibility toward our planet, something will shift — somehow, even if slowly. But it’s not the speed that matters, if the direction is right… right?
I’m also wishing for each of you to find your way out of your own labyrinth of the soul. To gather fruit along the path, to let the journey be rich and interesting — but to let it lead you, eventually, into the light. Because, as we agreed earlier in this text, this is the day when light prevails over darkness.
Thank you for reading me.
Yours,
Havana
P.S. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t mention that Mercury retrograde finally ended last night. So take a deep breath and enjoy restored connections, clearer understanding, and fewer travel disruptions. A slightly more comfortable world to live in.
Love, H.
